Today the long-awaited Xiaomi Mi 5X was officially introduced. The smartphone was the most anticipated device of July, the device was pre-ordered around 200 000 times. According to the manufacturer, sales will begin on August, 1.
In general, the device has an all-metal body in three color variations: black, gold and rose gold. It is also worth mentioning that it is covered with anti-fat coating, so there will be no glare or fingerprints.
The photographic possibilities the company has given this device are amazing. Mi 5X received a dual camera to keep up with the latest trends in mobile photography. Two cameras (the main one — Sony IMX368 and the telephoto — Samsung S5K3M3) 12 megapixels each will perfectly cope with portrait shooting, and the front camera has a resolution of 16MP. Mi 5X also has a fast autofocus, LED flash and can capture Full HD video at 30 fps. Thus, the device will receive the characteristics of the camera close to Xiaomi Mi 6.
Another interesting detail is a fingerprint scanner. Unlike previous models, the company chose to place it on the back of the device. The headphones can be connected via a 3.5mm jack. Inside the device there is an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal memory. There is also a microSD slot to expand the latter up to 128GB. The battery capacity is 3080mAh and you can charge the device via the USB Type-C port. The screen has a 5.5-inch diagonal and a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels. The size and the weight of the device are very convenient: 155.4×75.8×7.3 mm and 165g.
Mi 5X is the first smartphone to ship with MIUI 9, which was presented with it on the same day.
In general, it turned out to be a very decent device with great technical characteristics and at a reasonable price. Mi 5X is perfect for those who are not ready to pay a lot of money for the flagship smartphone. We are awaiting the device in our testing laboratory.
