Xiaomi has officially released the new Mi Band 5 fitness Bracelet.
The model has 2 versions, as usual - with NFC and without NFC support.
The most disappointing thing is the 1.1-inches AMOLED display which is bigger to compare with the previous generation, but smaller than it was expected. Also, the model didn`t receive the SpO2 sensor as it was rumored.
The display resolution is 126 × 294 pixels, the maximum brightness is 450 nits, the screen is protected with 2.5D glass. It is worth noting that the screen size became 20% larger making the information viewing more convenient.
The model has more than 100 thematic dials to use.
The dimensions are the same to compare with Mi Band 4.
The fitness bracelet has a 125 mAh battery which provides 14 days of work without recharging.
The model uses the magnetic charging. And this is really good because there is no need to take the device out from the strap for charging.
The bracelet is provided with a moisture protection feature according to 5 ATM standard.
The model automatically detects the physical activity like walking and running and sends the user notifications about the speed, distance, and heart rate. Mi Band 5 supports 11 sports modes. The model uses the new generation PPg sensor which is 50% more accurate.
Among the additional features, it’s worth to mention the smartphone’s camera control, music playback, smartphone control functions (find, disconnect, unlock, do not disturb), a clock (alarm clock, timer, stopwatch), a variety of notifications and reminders (calendar, instant messengers, weather, other applications).
The built-in NFC-module supports AliPay (currently can be used only in China).
The NFC version also supports the Xiao Ai voice assistant that can answer the user`s questions and manage the smart home appliances.
The model supports smartphones running the Android 6.0 and higher or iOS 10 and higher.
Mi Band 5 was released in Black color, but the manufacturer provides different color straps.
The price of the fitness bracelet is about 27$ for the Chinese version and about 32$ for NFC Edition. The sales are expected in the middle of June.
