Common features of Mi Band 2 were not changed very much compared to its previous generations.
The tracker still consist of two parts — a silicone strap and the capsule. On the front side of the Mi Band 2 there is an OLED display and a button to select the features displayed on the screen. On the opposite bottom face there is located an optical heart rate sensor.
The display of Mi Band 2 is able to show your pulse, steps passed, burned calories, distance, and, most importantly — time.
Capabilities
Xiaomi Mi Band 2 has a new stuffing and completely renewed algorithms of sleep and movement sensors operation. The new Mi Band will detect movements and determine false steps more precisely.
Also Xiaomi Mi Band 2 is able to measure the pulse. Now all measurements can be made on the band directly, without a smartphone. The tracker measures all the necessary data and displays it on its screen. The button on the screen helps the user to select the desired option to display.
The information about incoming calls and SMS can be also displayed on the Mi Band 2 screen when you smartphone is connected to it via Bluetooth 4.0. Also there will be possible to see the remaining battery level of the band.
Autonomy
There were many rumors concerning the autonomy of Mi Band 2. People believed that the presence of the display in the tracker will significantly reduce its operating time. But Xiaomi has used some special magic, thanks to which the operation time of Mi Band 2 reaches 20 days, which is comparable to the Mi Band Pulse!
Twenty days of continuous operation is a quite good result for the portable gadget with a screen, isn’t it?
As previously, there are available colorful replaceable straps for the tracker, made of medical grade silicone, which is safe for the skin. Xiaomi offers different color variations of them — bright orange, green, blue and deep black, so you can change the appearance of your Mi Band 2 to the one that will suit your current style and mood best of all.
