The Official Reveal of Xiaomi Mi 5X and MIUI 9 Is Just Around the Corner

Recent info out of Beijing confirmed that Mi 5X along with MIUI 9 would see the light of the day on July 26. It is however not clear whether the smartphone will board the latest MIUI upgrade.

MIUI 9

Although the company will not reveal MIUI 9 for a few more days, we can already get a first look at the new OS.

Two screenshots of MIUI 9 have leaked onto the web. The first shows the lock screen with a vibrant background and a slightly “bolder” font. The main menu design, shown on the second screenshot, has changed a little bit. The clock and weather widgets look smarter. The same applies to application icons.

MIUI 9 looks almost the same as ZUK UI and Flyme 6. This is bad in terms of diversity offered to users but it is good in terms of quality because the menu seems to be well-defined. Xiaomi said that MIUI 9 would also receive 3 standard themes and a split-screen support, which you could see in Mi Max 2.

Mi 5X

We can’t wait to see what the smartphone brings to the table. Suggesting from the images Mi 5X receives an all-metal case, two cameras, and a fingerprint reader. The new device will probably follow into Mi 6 footsteps and pack a 12MP dual-camera as the main module. A pretty face involved in the marketing campaign is a famous Chinese singer and actor Krish Woo.
