Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air 13.3′′ Got an Upgrade

June 2016 was a great month for Xiaomi. Mainly because its first two laptops finally saw the light and could offer a more appealing price than that of MacBook Air and had almost the same sheet of specs and looked just the same. After all of the comparisons, Xiaomi notebooks (as the company calls them) really did have a lot speedier CPU and GPU, more RAM, better display, thinner body and a more reasonable price. But it has been almost a year and not a single rumor has surfaced on whether Xiaomi was going to start working on the laptops again. Out of the blue, it launches sales for an Exclusive version of Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air 13.3′′ on its website. Smooth! So let us see what a rig it is.

Design-wise the Exclusive version looks identical to its basic version. It is crafted out of metal, has a 14.8-mm thick body and weighs 1.28 kg. The display is encircled with only a 5.99-mm bezel and boasts 1920×1080 Full HD resolution. It has a sapphire protection from scratches and drops and its hardness on the Mohs scale is 7.

We notice a big change at a level of CPU. The enhanced Mi Notebook Air 13.3′′ version is powered by Intel processor of the latest generation — Intel Core i7. It is a dual-core processor that engages Turbo Boost technology for the cores to operate 18% faster and benefit the performance.

Like its forerunner, the Exclusive version supports Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac and Bluetooth 4.1. It also features 1 x USB Type-C, 2 x USB 3.0 and 2 x HDMI. Realtek ALC255 codec along with a Dolby Audio Premium technology are in charge of every sound. The newcomer also sports a 40 Wh battery and includes 1C fast charging, making it half-full from empty in 30 minutes.

Mi Notebook Air 13.3′′ Exclusive version runs on 8 GB RAM and employs SSD with a 256GB capacity. It is equipped with a GeForce 940MX discrete graphics with 1 GB of GDDR5 memory. In the aftermath, we have a great gaming performance, 4K videos playback, and fast program opening.
