Mi Notebook Pro, Mi MIX 2 and Mi Note 3 Released

Today Xiaomi has presented three products at once: two smartphones, Mi Mix 2 and Mi Note 3, and a laptop — Mi Notebook Pro. All are different from their predecessors, not only in what they have under the hood but also in how they look.

Mi Notebook Pro

Xiaomi began the event with the unveiling of Mi Notebook Pro. This laptop is a great answer to MacBook Pro, which was released earlier this year. For money far less than Apple’s latest laptop, Xiaomi offers as thin and light frame, as beautiful screen, as powerful processor with a large amount of ROM and RAM.

One of the things that make Mi Notebook Pro stand out in the sea of the devices alike is a fingerprint sensor. The lid and the base of the new Mi laptop are made of a magnesium alloy in dark gray, the only color option available. It also comes with a backlit keyboard with key caps having a concave profile.

Behind the 15.6-inch display that features Corning Glass Gorilla Glass 3 protection there can be the latest Intel i7 processor coupled with NVIDIA GeForce MX150 GPU, 8GB or 16GB of RAM or Intel i5 processor coupled with the same GPU and 8GB. All three versions will have 256GB of storage space.

Mi Notebook Pro also boasts a 2-antenna AC Wi-Fi, a 3-in-1 microSD card slot, Bluetooth and USB Type-C ports. Outside of that, Xiaomi promises an ultra-long battery life and 1C quick charge, saying that the laptop will regain 50% of its battery capacity in just 35 minutes.

Mi MIX 2

The introduction a bezel-less Mi MIX last year turned the mobile industry upside down. Mi MIX 2 although does not have that frameless display wow-factor, but has a lot of features up its sleeve you will be smitten by.

For example, Mi MIX 2 achieves a fantastic even higher screen-to-body ratio. It comes packing a 5.99-inch Full HD+ display with a 2160 × 1080 resolution and 403ppi. Xiaomi also included a powerful 2.45GHz Snapdragon 835 along with Adreno 540 GPU. The standard version of Mi MIX 2 has 6GB of RAM and three ROM options: 64GB, 128GB or 256GB. A limited edition will sport 256GB of ROM and 8GB of RAM.

Unlike the rumors, Mi MIX 2 has a single camera module on its rear, but it still looks like an impressive set-up. Here you will find a 12MP camera with an IMX386 sensor, 4-axis OIS, f/2.0 aperture, PDAF and HDR. A 5MP front-snapper supports 1080p video calls and a Beatify filter.

The software on Mi MIX 2 is the latest version of Android with MIUI 9 on top. Some of the connectivity options worth mentioning are Bluetooth 5.0 and 4G VoLTE. The smartphone is powered by a 3400mAh battery and has Quick Charge 3.0 at your disposal.

The limited edition of Mi MIX 2 will be offered in a ceramic frame, black and white colors, and a fingerprint sensor with 18K gold rim.

Mi Note 3

The successor to Mi Note 2 is presented as a bigger version of Mi 6. Mi Note 3 has an aluminum alloy body with a metal frame. The smartphone is equipped with a 3.6-mm thick four-way curved glass. One of its highlights is face recognition via biometric authentication. The smartphone also has a fingerprint sensor under the glass and an IR blaster.

Outside of that Mi Note 3 comes with a 5.5-inch display that features a special reading mode. At the heart of this smartphone sits the octa-core Snapdragon 660 processor coupled with 6GB of RAM.

Mi Note 3 actually boasts the same dual-camera capabilities as the Mi 6. It is equipped with two a 12-megapixel wide-angle lens and a 12-megapixel telephoto lens. The cameras feature 2x optical zoom, 4-axis optical image stabilization and let you add DSLR-like Bokeh effects to your photos. On the front, there is a 16-megapixel camera with 2-micron pixel. Connectivity options include NFC, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and USB Type-C. The smartphone runs Android based MIUI 9 and has a battery of 3500mAh.
