Optical audio switchers, splitters and DAC converters.
Optical audio switchers connect several sources, such as a TV, game console and Blu-ray player, to one soundbar or AV receiver with a single optical input, which saves swapping cables. Optical splitters send one optical signal to two devices, such as a soundbar and headphone amplifier. DAC converters change digital optical audio into analogue RCA or 3.5 mm audio, which lets you connect a modern TV to older speakers, amplifiers and headphones that have no optical input. Check the inputs, outputs and supported audio formats before ordering. Note that most DACs output stereo sound, not surround. These devices are popular for home theatres and gaming setups.
