Transparent lens covers and domes protect the camera lens underwater and allow split-level shots that show the view above and below the water at the same time, which is popular for surfing, snorkelling and pool videos. Dome ports give a wide, distortion-free view underwater and make water droplets slide off the lens. Check that the cover or dome is made for your camera model or housing. Apply anti-fog inserts to prevent condensation inside the housing. Clean the dome with fresh water after each use, especially after salt water, to prevent scratches and residue.
