To connect a phone or tablet to a TV or monitor through USB-C, the device must support DisplayPort Alt Mode, which most iPads with USB-C and many Android flagships do, but many budget phones do not. Check your device's specifications before ordering. For 4K video at 60 Hz, choose an HDMI 2.0 or newer cable or adapter.
