Solder wire — leaded and lead-free with flux core.
Solder wire joins electronic components and wires, and choosing the right type affects the quality of solder joints. Lead-free solder is safer and required for many commercial products, while leaded solder (such as 63/37) melts at lower temperatures and is easier to work with. Rosin-core solder contains flux inside, which helps solder flow and stick. Thinner solder suits small electronics, while thicker solder suits larger joints. Check the alloy, diameter, flux type and weight before ordering. Use in well-ventilated areas and wash hands after handling solder. Solder dispensers keep wire tidy.
Flux: soldering paste.
