Replacement Batteries for Phones, Tablets, Laptops, Watches and Cameras

Lithium-ion batteries wear out with every charge cycle, and after two or three years of daily use most phones hold noticeably less charge. Replacing the battery is one of the most cost-effective repairs: it restores battery life, often fixes unexpected shutdowns and can extend the life of a device by years. This category covers replacement batteries for iPhone, iPad, Mac, Samsung, Xiaomi, Huawei and many other brands, as well as smartwatches and GoPro cameras.

Signs a battery needs replacing

  • The device runs out of power much faster than when new.
  • It shuts down suddenly at 20 or 30 percent.
  • Charging is slow or the percentage jumps unpredictably.
  • The battery is swollen, lifting the screen or back cover.
  • On iPhone, Settings shows low maximum capacity or a service message.

Choosing a battery

Match the battery to the exact device model, because batteries differ in size, connector and capacity even between similar models. Check the voltage and the connector type on the flex cable. Higher stated capacity is not always better: the battery must fit the space inside the device and work with its charging circuit.

Batteries for iPhone

On recent iPhone models, a battery replaced without Apple's pairing process may show a message in Settings about an unknown or non-genuine battery, and the battery health percentage may not be displayed. The phone continues to work normally. Some battery cells are sold without the original control board, so the technician transfers the original board or uses a programmer to restore battery health readings.

Safety

Lithium batteries must be handled carefully. Never puncture, bend or crush a battery. Use adhesive removal strips or isopropyl alcohol rather than forcing the battery out with metal tools. A swollen battery should be removed slowly and stored safely before recycling. Do not use or install batteries with visible damage.

Installation tips

  • Disconnect the old battery before working on other components.
  • Clean old adhesive from the battery compartment.
  • Use new adhesive strips to secure the new battery.
  • After installation, charge the device fully and allow a few complete cycles for accurate percentage readings.

Old batteries should be taken to recycling points for electronic waste rather than thrown away with household rubbish.
