Galaxy A Series Parts: Screens, Charging Boards and Housings for Samsung's Best-selling Phones
Galaxy A phones are Samsung's most widely sold models worldwide, covering budget and mid-range buyers. As a result, they account for a very large share of repair jobs, and repair shops typically keep A series parts in stock.
Screens for Galaxy A phones
Most current A series phones use AMOLED displays, often with an optical in-display fingerprint sensor, while the lowest-priced models use LCD screens. For AMOLED models, replacement screens are available in several grades:
- Service pack or original screens give original colour and fingerprint support.
- OLED aftermarket screens offer good quality at a lower price.
- Incell LCD screens are the cheapest, but they are thicker and do not support the in-display fingerprint sensor.
Screens are available with or without the frame. A screen with a frame is quicker to fit and reduces the risk of damage.
Charging boards and sub-boards
On many A series phones, the USB-C port, main microphone and sometimes the headphone jack are on a separate sub-board at the bottom. Replacing this board fixes charging problems, loose cables and muffled call audio in one simple repair.
Other common parts
- Back covers: many A models have plastic or glass backs that crack or scratch.
- Cameras and camera lens glass.
- Main flex cables connecting the sub-board to the mainboard.
- Side keys, SIM trays, speakers and vibration motors.
Model and variant matching
Samsung releases many A models each year, such as A15, A25, A35 and A55, often in 4G and 5G versions with different parts. Regional variants can use different charging boards and screens. Always check the full model number, such as SM-A256B, in Settings, About phone.
Tips for high-volume repairs
For shops repairing many A series phones, stocking screens in two grades lets customers choose between price and quality. Keep charging sub-boards for the most popular models, as charging faults are the second most common repair after screens.
