HTC Spare Parts: Screens, Housings and Components for HTC Phones

HTC was once one of the leading Android phone brands, and models such as the HTC One series, Desire series and U series are still used by owners who value their build quality and design. As HTC no longer releases many new phones, repair is often the only way to keep these devices working.

Screens and touch panels

HTC phones use LCD and AMOLED screens depending on the model. Older Desire models often have separate touch panels, allowing a cheaper repair when only the glass is cracked. Newer models use laminated displays that are replaced as complete assemblies.

Full housing covers

Many HTC One models use aluminium unibody housings, which are known for premium build quality but can dent and scratch over time. Full housing covers restore the appearance of these phones. Replacing a unibody housing requires transferring all internal components, so it is a more involved repair than a simple back cover swap.

Other common parts

  • Camera modules and lens glass.
  • Tail connectors and charging flex cables.
  • Flex cables for display, buttons and mainboard.
  • Loudspeakers and ringers, including the front-facing BoomSound speakers on HTC One models.
  • Adhesive stickers for resealing.

Matching the model

HTC models have similar names, such as One M8, One M9 and One A9, or Desire 626 and Desire 820. Each uses different parts. Check the model in Settings, About phone, or on the label inside the device.

Repair considerations

Because parts for older HTC phones are becoming less common, technicians should check availability before taking on a repair. Unibody designs can be challenging to open and often require special techniques and tools. For collectors and loyal users, a quality repair keeps a favourite phone in service and avoids replacing it.

Repair tips

Disconnect the battery before working on flex cables, use plastic tools to avoid scratching aluminium, and test all functions before reassembly.
