Contactless cards communicate with readers wirelessly at a short range, which makes them fast and convenient for access control, public transport, cashless payments and ID. Contact cards have a gold chip on the surface that must be inserted into a reader, which is used for secure ID, SIM-like applications and banking. Dual-interface cards combine both technologies. Check the chip type, memory size, frequency and security features before ordering, as these vary widely. Popular chips include MIFARE Classic, MIFARE DESFire, NTAG and SLE4442. Custom printing and personalisation are available for large orders.
