On-camera monitors with 4K HDMI input, focus peaking, false colour and LUT support for accurate framing and exposure.
Camera screens are small and hard to see in sunlight, so an on-camera monitor gives a bigger, brighter picture for checking focus and exposure. Focus peaking highlights sharp edges, false colour shows exposure levels and waveforms help get correct brightness, while LUT support lets you preview log footage with a normal colour look. Check the screen size (5 or 7 inches is common), brightness in nits (1000+ for outdoor use), HDMI or SDI inputs and battery type. Some monitors also record higher-quality video than the camera can record internally, which is useful for professional work.
