Cables and chargers wear out faster than almost any other accessory, and a poor-quality replacement can charge slowly, disconnect or even damage the phone. Charging power and protocols
Fast charging depends on three elements working together: the phone, the charger and the cable. Common standards include USB Power Delivery and Qualcomm Quick Charge, plus brand-specific systems. A charger with a higher wattage than the phone supports is safe, because the phone requests only the power it can accept. For USB-C cables used with high-power chargers or laptops, check the rated current, such as 3 A or 5 A.
Adapters and data accessories
OTG adapters connect USB flash drives, keyboards, mice and game controllers to a phone. USB-C or Micro USB card readers transfer photos from a camera's SD card. Audio adapters connect wired headphones to phones without a headphone jack. Video adapters connect phones and tablets to a monitor or TV, but only on devices that support video output through USB-C.
Wireless charging receivers
A receiver is a thin pad that connects to the charging port and sits behind the phone, adding wireless charging to models that do not support it natively. It works with standard Qi charging pads.

- Braided cables and reinforced connector ends resist bending damage.
- Avoid wrapping cables tightly around chargers.
- Unplug by the connector, not the cable.
- Choose chargers with overcurrent, overvoltage and overheating protection.
