RFID animal tags identify livestock and pets, which helps with tracking, health records, breeding, feeding and theft prevention. Ear tags are used for cattle, sheep, goats and pigs and can be read by handheld or fixed readers in barns and at gates. Glass implant tags (microchips) are placed under the skin of pets and are the standard method for pet identification in many countries, using ISO 11784/11785 FDX-B at 134.2 kHz.
