Pressure cookers cook food much faster than normal cooking by raising the boiling point of water with pressure, which saves time and energy and makes tough meat tender, beans soft and stews flavourful in a fraction of the usual time. Stovetop pressure cookers work on gas, electric and induction hobs, while electric pressure cookers have programmes and timers. Replacement parts such as sealing rings, gaskets, pressure valves and handles keep pressure cookers safe and working well. Sealing rings should be replaced every 12–18 months. Check the pressure cooker brand, model and size before ordering parts.
