Motorola Spare Parts: Screens, Charging Boards and Components for Moto G, Moto E and Edge
Motorola phones are widely used in North America, Latin America and Europe, with the Moto G series making up the largest share of repairs. Edge flagships and Razr foldables are also repaired, though less often. This category covers parts for the most common Motorola repairs.
Screens
Moto G and Moto E phones mostly use LCD screens, with some recent Moto G models using OLED. Edge models use pOLED displays, often with curved edges and in-display fingerprint sensors. Curved screens need careful removal, and assemblies with frames reduce the risk of breakage. Outer glass lenses are available for refurbishing.
Charging port boards
The USB-C port on many Moto G phones is on a sub-board at the bottom of the phone, along with the microphone. Charging port board replacement is one of the most common Motorola repairs and fixes charging and call audio together. Moto G phones are often used heavily, so ports wear out relatively quickly.
Other common parts
- Card sockets: SIM and microSD card readers that can be damaged by inserting cards incorrectly.
- Camera accessories: lens glass and camera modules.
- Frame bezel plates and back covers.
- Flex cables for the display, buttons and mainboard.
- Earpiece and loudspeaker modules.
Matching the model
Motorola reuses names each year, such as Moto G Power (2022) and Moto G Power (2023), which use different parts. Check the model number, such as XT2165, in Settings, About phone, and include the year in your search.
Repair tips
Many Moto G phones have plastic backs held by adhesive, while Edge models have glass backs requiring more heat. Disconnect the battery before unplugging flex cables. On models with water-repellent coating, replace seals and adhesive after opening. Test charging, touch, display and microphone before final assembly.
