Fishing lines — monofilament, fluorocarbon and braided lines.
The fishing line connects the angler to the fish, so choosing the right line is important for casting distance, sensitivity, strength and invisibility in water. Monofilament line is affordable, stretchy and easy to handle, which suits beginners. Fluorocarbon line is nearly invisible underwater, which is useful for clear water and leaders. Braided line is very strong, thin and has no stretch, which gives great sensitivity and long casts. Check the line strength (pound test or kg), diameter, length and colour before ordering. Match the line to your reel and target fish. Replace old line regularly, as it weakens over time.
