SD and CF card slots can break from bent pins, worn springs or forced cards, causing card read errors or cards that do not stay in place. CF card slots have fragile pins that are easily bent if a card is inserted at an angle. Replacing the card slot restores reliable card reading and writing. Match the slot to the exact camera model before ordering, and take care during disassembly, as card slots are often soldered to the main board. Card doors are also available for cameras with broken or lost doors.
