The Switch charges through USB-C, so many USB-C PD chargers work with it, but the dock needs a charger that supports the right power profile (15 V) to output to a TV. Check that the charger or portable dock is tested with Switch before ordering. Joy-Con charging stations charge several controllers at once, which is useful for families and party games. Power banks extend play time on long trips, as the Switch battery lasts only a few hours in demanding games. Portable docks are smaller than the original dock and are popular for travel.
