Electronics Modules and Accessories: Mini PC, Arcade, Robotics, MCU, FPGA and Expansion Accessories
Electronics modules and accessories support engineers, students and makers building projects with single-board computers, microcontrollers, FPGAs and robotics platforms. This category covers expansion boards, adapters, tools and accessories that extend the capabilities of development boards and mini PCs.
Mini PC accessories
Cases, cooling fans, heatsinks, power supplies and expansion boards help single-board computers and mini PCs run reliably in projects such as home servers, media centres and automation hubs.
Arcade accessories
Joysticks, arcade buttons, encoders and wiring kits are used to build arcade cabinets and controllers, often combined with single-board computers running emulators.
Robotics accessories
Motor drivers, servos, wheels, chassis kits and sensors support robotics projects for education, competitions and hobbyists.
MCU and FPGA tools
Programmers, debuggers, development boards and accessories for microcontrollers (MCUs) and FPGAs are used for embedded development. Check compatibility with the specific chip family and development software.
Arduino Nucleo and expansion accessories
Nucleo boards from STMicroelectronics and expansion shields add sensors, communication and display functions. Expansion modules extend boards with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, displays and sensors.
Sockets and adapters
Test sockets, programming adapters and IC adapters help program and test chips in different packages.
Compatibility
- Logic voltage: 3.3 V or 5 V. Mixing voltages without level shifters can damage components.
- Interfaces: I2C, SPI, UART, GPIO.
- Physical form factor and pin header layout.
- Software libraries and support.
Practical tips
Read the module datasheet and pinout before wiring. Use a breadboard for testing before soldering. Use proper power supplies to avoid instability.
These modules and accessories make it easier to move from an idea to a working prototype.
Power supply
Many unexplained faults in projects come from weak power. Motors, servos and Wi-Fi modules draw current peaks that a USB port or a small regulator cannot supply, causing resets and unstable readings. Use a separate supply for motors, share the ground between supplies and add capacitors near power-hungry modules.
