HDMI extenders over Cat5e/Cat6 Ethernet cable for distances up to 120 m.
HDMI extenders over Ethernet send video and audio over a standard Cat5e or Cat6 network cable, which reaches much further than a normal HDMI cable, often 50 m, 70 m or even 120 m. They are widely used for digital signage, conference rooms, classrooms, home theatres, CCTV monitors and installations where the display is far from the source. Network cable is cheaper, thinner and easier to run through walls and ceilings than long HDMI cables. Check the supported resolution, maximum distance, cable type and whether the extender supports IR remote control pass-through, so you can control the source from the display location. Some models support HDMI loop-out for a local monitor, and over-IP versions can send one source to many displays through a network switch.
