HID ballasts for xenon headlights.
HID ballasts provide the high voltage needed to start xenon headlight bulbs and regulate power while they run, so a faulty ballast causes flickering lights, lights that turn off while driving or lights that do not start at all. Replacing the ballast is often cheaper than replacing the whole headlight unit. Check the ballast type for your car model and bulb type (D1S, D2S, D3S and others) before ordering, as ballasts are not interchangeable between all systems. Aftermarket ballasts for conversion kits come in different power levels, such as 35W and 55W. Fast-start ballasts reach full brightness more quickly. CAN bus ballasts prevent warning messages on modern cars. Always disconnect the battery before working on HID lighting, as ballasts produce high voltage.
