A background support stand holds backdrops securely in place, which makes it easy to set up a studio at home, in an office or on location. Most stands consist of two adjustable light stands and a crossbar, and they can be adjusted in height and width to suit different backdrop sizes. Clamps keep the backdrop tight and smooth, while sandbags add stability. Check the maximum height, width and load before ordering. Lightweight aluminium stands with a carry bag are ideal for mobile photographers, while heavier stands are better for permanent studios. Some stands also support paper rolls with a chain system.
