Tablet Keyboards for Samsung, Lenovo, Microsoft, Xiaomi and Other Tablets
A keyboard turns a tablet into a practical tool for writing documents, answering email and studying. This category covers keyboard cases made for specific tablets from Samsung, Lenovo, Microsoft, Xiaomi, Huawei and OPPO, as well as universal Bluetooth keyboards.
Model-specific keyboard cases
Keyboard cases designed for a particular tablet combine a protective cover with a detachable or integrated keyboard. They have accurate cut-outs, a stand angle suited to the tablet and, on some models, a pen holder. Microsoft Surface type covers connect through magnetic contacts and need no charging, while most Android keyboard cases connect via Bluetooth and need to be charged.
Universal keyboards
Universal Bluetooth keyboards work with Android, iPadOS and Windows. They suit users with several devices or tablets without model-specific keyboards. Folding keyboards fit in a pocket or bag, and full-size models give more comfortable typing. Some can switch between several paired devices with a button.
Features to compare
- Connection: Bluetooth, pogo pin contacts or USB.
- Touchpad: useful on Android and Windows tablets for cursor control.
- Backlight: helps when typing in low light.
- Layout: check the language layout and shortcut keys for Android or Windows.
- Battery: rechargeable built-in battery or replaceable AAA batteries.
- Stand angle: adjustable stands are more comfortable on a desk.
Choosing by use
Students who write essays and notes benefit most from a model-specific keyboard case with a touchpad. Office workers who also use a laptop may prefer a universal keyboard that switches between devices. Travellers often choose a slim folding keyboard that adds minimal weight.
Practical tips
Pair the keyboard in the tablet's Bluetooth settings and update the tablet software if keys do not work as expected. Turn Bluetooth keyboards off when not in use to save battery, and keep the contacts of pogo-pin keyboards clean for a reliable connection.
