Tea pets — clay figurines that decorate tea trays.
Tea pets are small clay figurines that sit on the tea tray during Chinese tea ceremonies, and tea drinkers pour leftover tea over them, which slowly changes their colour and gives them a unique, polished look over time. They often take the shape of animals, Buddhas, frogs, pigs and mythical creatures, which symbolise good luck, wealth and happiness. Some tea pets change colour when hot water is poured over them, while others pee water as a fun trick. Check the size, material and design before ordering. Tea pets are popular gifts for tea lovers and collectors.
